Job Description

Huntsman Corporation is now looking for a dynamic individual as a Communications and Events Specialist. We are currently looking for a dynamic, creative, and hands-on Communications and Events Specialist based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The selected candidate will be serve as the focal point for communication and event activities across our Business Services teams in Malaysia, Poland, and Costa Rica.

Primary responsibilities include planning, coordinating, developing, and executing consistent and timely communications content to support strategic initiatives across the three Business Service teams, Human Resources, and Global Corporate Communications.

The selected candidate will possess strong copywriting and communication skills, event management skills, creativity in visual content development, and experience working with digital platforms and web content. You will be comfortable crafting written and visual content for various channels and formats (i.e. Sharepoint, Company Intranet, e-newsletters articles, e-mail communication, social media).

This role reports to the Director of Global Corporate Communications in The Woodlands, Texas, USA and cross-functionally to the Head of Talent Acquisition – APAC and EMEA based in Kuala Lumpur.

The ideal candidate will be located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

 

As a Communications and Events Specialist you will:

Write, edit, and proofread compelling stories for a variety of communications channels, including internal articles, e-mail communications, newsletters, video scripting, website, and social media.

Coordinate content development, design, production, and distribution of communications materials with designers, internal stakeholders, and Legal department.

Produce engaging content that is consistent with Huntsman brand tone, voice, style across all communications channels.

Coordinate translation of communication materials as necessary, collaborating with external translation agencies and global communications staff.

Manage multiple SharePoint sites and image library of communication materials.

Write content for global monthly newsletters and internal articles, seeking stories to highlight from across the Hubs and functional teams.

Coordinate local community, CSR, internal, and/or customer events.

Uphold Huntsman brand and trademark standards and consistency in all projects in coordination with Corporate Communications.

 

What skills and experiences are we looking for?

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, English, journalism, public relations or related field

3+years of proven experience in content marketing, copywriting, and/or digital marketing, preferably in a B2B corporate communications or business unit marketing team in the chemical, manufacturing, or oil & gas industries.

Mastery of English language with proven communication skills (written, verbal, visual). Spanish, Polish, Malay and/or Mandarin Chinese fluency is a plus.

Knowledge of best practices for formatting and presenting textual, graphic content for websites, mobile applications, and other digital media applications.

Proactive and self-motivated individual with the ability to bring highly creative ideas to the table, devise a plan, and execute according to budget and timelines.

Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with individuals at all levels of the organization, including Executives.

Ability to multitask on various projects, while effectively communicating timelines to key stakeholders.

Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally in a team environment with colleagues across the globe and different time zones (USA, Costa Rica, Asia,  Europe). Flexible working hours to adapt to different time zones as required.

Demonstrates attention to detail, cooperation, and follow-through for all projects including time and budget management.

Generates a sense of energy and excitement to deliver while leveraging creative problem-solving skills to propose new solutions and ideas.

Strong bias for action and ability to adapt quickly to new or ambiguous situations.
